Table of Contents

Everyone who has been collecting pocket knives for a while probably has an older copy or three of this book sitting on their shelf, or at the very least has seen and flipped through one at a knife show. No wonder - its proven popular, its conveniently sized, lists a lot of Case knives, and usually includes listings for a brand or two that you won't find anywhere else.

The same is true of the new edition, recently released by Parkers Knife Collector Service. Its still perfect for shoving into a back pocket whenever you head off to knife-trade, it lists current collector values of more Case knives than ever before, and its presently the only in-print book covering recent Bulldog Brand Knives, the Case Classics series, and post-1980 Case knives in detail.

One thing that has changed since the last edition is that Jim Parker, cutlery legend and the author of the books first seven editions, passed away in late 2004. The new edition has been carried on by Jims son Buzz Parker and longtime friend and employee Ed Henley, and theyve done a fine job with the Bulldog Brand and Case Classics sections.

For the Case knife listings, the two turned to well known dealers Tony Foster and Perry Miller the former for Case knives produced from 1920 to 1970, the latter covering the modern era of 1970 to 2000. These listings are sparsely illustrated, but they include more variations than have ever before been collected into a single volume. For that, Case enthusiasts should find this a most valuable resource.

In summary, if you collect Case pocketknives, Case Classics, or Bulldog Brand knives, the new Pocket Knife Traders Price Guide is about as must-have as a book can be. Recommended.
